Cong forms panel for Rajasthan polls

New Delhi : Ahead of the Rajasthan Assembly elections in November-December, the Congress on Thursday set up a 23-member coordination committee that includes three AICC general secretaries besides State Congress chief Sachin Pilot, CLP leader Rameshwar Dudhi and former chief ministers Ashok Gehlot and Jagannath Pahadia and four former State Congress presidents.

Congress President Rahul Gandhi constituted the committee on the day Sachin Pilot hosted a lunch to Delhi journalists on the Congress ousting the ruling BJP in two Lok Sabha and an Assembly by-election last week.

The three AICC general secretaries in the committee are: Avinash Pande (Nagpur), in-charge of Rajasthan, Mohan Prakash, former in-charge and Dr C P Joshi who is from Rajasthan. Former Governor Kaml Beniwal is also a member of the committee.


The former PCC presidents on the committee are: Dr Girija Vyas, Narayan Singh, Dr B D Kalia and Dr Chandra Bhan.

Others on the commitee include Rajasthan PCC secretaries Vivek Bansal, Mohd Nizamuddin, Devendra Yadav and Tarun Kumar, deputy CLP leader Ramesh Meena, former CLP leader Hamaram Choudhary, former Assembly Speaker Deependra Singh Shekhawat among others.
