SAFA evaluates and awards top performers for implementation of good governance, transparency and accountability among the SAARC nations – Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nepal, the Maldives, Bhutan and Afghanistan - each year.

The IDLC won the first prize in overall category as well as secured the first position in Integrated Reporting and Financial Services sector among participants of the seven SAARC countries, IDLC said in a press release.

It said Shankar Prasad Adhikari, the finance secretary of Nepal, handed the award to Aziz Al Mahmud, chairman of IDLC Finance Limited and Arif Khan, CEO and Managing Director of IDLC Finance Limited at a recent ceremony in Kathmandu.

“This is indeed a proud moment for Bangladesh. Special thanks to our Chairman, Board of Director, our colleagues, stakeholders and our clients for making this possible”, the release quoted Arif as saying.
