Allahabad: A number of measures taken by the Yogi Adityanath government to check education mafia forced over 1.8 lakh student to opt from the Uttar Pradesh Class 10 and Class 12 exams 2018, a state board official said.
“On the first day of examinations on Tuesday, over 1,80,826 students did not appear. It included over 53,100 high school and over 1.27 lakh intermediate students,” Deputy Director Education Vikas Srivastava is quoted by HT.
"Many students who were absent on the first day of the UP board exams did so due to the number of measures initiated by the state government, including installation of CCTV cameras in exam halls and using STF and local intelligence to check activities of education mafia", an unnamed state board official said.
Conducted by the Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, Allahabad Uttar Pradesh (UPMSP), UP Board Class 10 and Class 12 board exams began on February 06, 2018. The exams are conducted in two shifts.
The Class 10 (Matric or High School) exams 2018 are being held in the morning shift 07:30 am to 10:45 am whereas the Class 12 or Intermediate exams 2018 conducted in the afternoon shift from 02:00 pm to 05:15 pm.
The first paper of 2018 Class 10 was of Home Science in the morning shift whereas Hindi language paper was the first paper of Class 12 or Inter 2018 exams in the afternoon shift on February 06,2018.
English language paper of Class 10 will be held on February 09 and Mathematics paper will be held on February 13, 2018, the UP board Date Sheet for 2018 Class 12 and Class 10 exams said.
A total of 66,37,018 students had registered the 2018 UP board Class 10 and Class 12 exams. These include 36,55,691 students who registered for Class 10 exams and 29,81,327 students who had applied for Class 12 exams.
According to the list of examination centres released on UP board website upmsp.edu.in, 2018 Class 10 and Class 12 exams are held at 128 centres. This is 05 less than 133 - the previous year total of exam centres.
The UP board Class 10 exams will end on February 22, 2018 with Sanskrit as last paper. The last paper of UP Board Class 12 exam will be on March 10, 2018. The paper will be of Anthropology and Urdu language, and it will be held only in the afternoon shift.
The Uttar Pradesh board Class 10 and Class 12 exams are held annually. The UP board declares Class X and Class XII result by the end of May or in the first week of June.
