Yet another baba was found to be running an ashram and holding girls captive and sexually exploiting them at Bhadohi. The baba and his aides were subsequently arrested and the captive girls were rescued and a case was registered against the offenders.
As per reports, an ashram was running in Natwa Aurangabad area of Aurai in Bhadohi district for the last one year. The police was informed that the baba, identified as Rajendra Kumar, had grabbed Gram Samaj land and constructed a temporary ashram.
It also came to light that he had kept some girls captive and was sexually exploiting them. Two days back, a local contacted senior officers and informed that the baba had held his daughter captive and was not allowing her to return home.
When the cops tried to enquire into the matter, they were not allowed entry inside the ashram last Monday. Later local officers led a team and conducted a raid on Wednesday morning. Surprisingly, some followers of the Baba first stopped the police team from entering inside and later assaulted the cops.
It was only when heavy police force reached the spot that the aides allowed the team to enter inside. The cops found half a dozen girls held captive inside the ashram and rescued them. They later arrested the Baba along with four cronies, who had attacked the police.
The rescued girls were sent to Nari Niketan in Gopiganj (Bhadohi) and investigations are on. The local administration also demolished the ashram and got the Government land freed.
