Ever wondered what librarians really do? Members of the public can now get an insider’s perspective on the behind-the-scenes action with ‘A Librarian’s World’, a series of monthly talks where our librarians share on their work.
Librarians highlight little-known nuggets of their profession, ranging from rare maps to poetry and even sci-fi.
Two talks are held every month this year - one at the National Library and another at a public library closer to the heartlands.
This month, join Librarian Jessie Yak as she pieces together Singapore’s past as an early travellers’ hub on Feb 22 at the National Library Building. Discover how travelogues, postcards, and menus from the National Library’s Rare Materials and Donors’ collections reveal the story of travel in Singapore in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Admission is free. Register here, or at the library eKiosks.
