A 11-year-old girl studying in class IV at a convent school in Ballia died after being thrashed by her teacher on Wednesday morning. A case was registered in this regard and a probe was underway. The police is waiting for the autopsy report before arresting the teacher.
SP of Ballia, Anil Kumar said that the girl studying in Saint Xaiver’s School at Ballia was slapped by her teacher in the class room last Monday. The teacher assaulted the girl after she failed to reply to a query and as a result she fainted and had to be hospitalised. Upon regaining consciousness, the victim told her family members about the incident in the hospital. The victim’s family did not report the matter to police but it took an ugly turn when her condition deteriorated resulting in her death on Wednesday morning.
The victim’s family placed the girl’s body in front of the college and staged a blockade demanding action against college authorities. Later senior officers reached the spot and got a case of culpable homicide and causing injury registered against the teacher identified as Rajni Upadhyay. Further investigations are on by the police.
Meanwhile in Amethi, a student who had gone to take her Board exams on Wednesday morning suddenly fainted at the exam centre and after being rushed to the hospital, was declared dead upon arrival. The police registered a case and were trying to ascertain the cause of death.
Om Prakash Yadav of Tewaripur hamlet in Amethi claimed that his daughter Mamta Yadav had gone to take her High School Board exams at Ram Janki Balika Inter College in Simrauta locality of Amethi on Wednesday morning.
After an hour, he received information from the college that his daughter fainted outside the exam room and she was shifted to Community Health Centre where doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival. Om Prakash claimed that the reason behind the death could not be ascertained so suspecting foul play, he decided to get a case registered. A case was later registered at Shivratanganj police station and the body was sent for autopsy. Investigations are on by the police.
