In a sensational incident in Muzaffarnagar, a 23-year-old woman was raped by a man in front of her mentally challenged brother on Tuesday evening. The police registered a case and efforts were on to nab the accused.
As per reports, a girl hailing from Kotwali City area of Muzaffarnagar and her brother went to purchase medicines on Tuesday evening. On their way, a local identified as Monu came and offered them lift on his motorcycle. The unsuspecting girl and her brother rode the motorcycle but the accused took both to a secluded place where his friends also joined him.
The miscreants took the brother at gun point and threatening him with dire consequences, gang raped the girl and later fled from the spot. The accused also threatened to kill both if they reported the matter to the police.
The girl and her brother somehow returned home and later called the police and narrated their trauma. The cops registered a case against Monu and his aides and efforts were on to nab the criminals.
Elsewhere in Meerut, a case of rape was registered against an Inspector. As per report lodged with Mahila police station in Meerut, a lady constable alleged that Inspector, Lokendra Pal Singh posted in Moradabad, forcibly huddled her in his car and later raped her. She also alleged that the Inspector recorded the incident and threatened to upload it on the internet if she tried to lodge a case. A case was registered and investigations were on.
Meanwhile in Muzaffaranagar, a dreaded criminal carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 was eliminated ruing an encounter in Kotwali area late on Tuesday night. Two cops, including a sub-inspector, were also injured in the exchange of fire.
SSP of Muzaffarnagar, Anant Dev Tewari claimed that acting on a tip off the police tried to intercept two motorbike borne suspects but they opened fire on the police. In retaliatory firing a criminal was killed while another managed to flee. Sub-inspector Vinay Sharma and constable Amit were injured in the cross firing.
Tewari said that the deceased was identified as Vikas Jat of Badi Majana area of Shamli. Several cases including loot and murder were registered against Jat in different police stations. Recently, Jat had killed a woman and her daughter in Partapur area of Meerut and a reward of Rs 50,000 was announced for his arrest. Two pistols, some cartages and a motorbike were recovered. A manhunt was launched to nab Jat’s absconding aide.
