Concrete steps taken to improve learning skills in students, claims Hry Govt

Haryana Government has taken concrete steps to further improve the education system and learning level of the students in Government schools under the Saksham Haryana campaign, said Rakesh Gupta, Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister.

Presiding over a review meeting of Saksham Haryana with district officers through video-conference here on Wednesday, he said learning enhancement programmes has been started in the state.

As many as 120 WhatsApp groups have been created through which teachers are being encouraged to impart quality education. Under this programme, blocks with 80 per cent result would be included in the Saksham Block. As many as nine blocks have so far been included in the first phase and 24 more blocks would be included in the second phase, said he.

Gupta further said deputy commissioners and sub-divisional magistrates should review the working of the scheme by holding meeting with officers of the Education Department between 10th and 20th of every month. Similarly, district education officers should also hold meetings from time to time to review the activities being carried out under the scheme.

All additional deputy commissioners and sub-divisional magistrates should monitor activities up to February 12, said he.

All officers of the Education Department and teachers should ensure that cheating is checked during internal assessment. The learning level of students can be assessed through actual assessment on the basis of which improvement would be made, said he.

 Gupta said d the State Government would provide books to students before the start of the next academic session. Steps have been taken to ensure that books reach schools by March 31. All officers should send data of their school students latest by February 15 as books would be provided on the basis of this data, he added.
