Under its Crop Cluster Development Programme to be implemented at a cost of Rs 510 crore, Haryana Government has identified one cluster of villages in Bhiwani block for setting up of a 'State of Art' grading and sorting pack house.
It will be set up for horticulture crops of ber, cabbage, cauliflower, carrots and kinnow, said Principal Secretary, Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare Department, Abhilaksh Likhi while interacting with farmers in village Kharak Kalan in district Bhiwani.
While motivating farmers to adopt integrated farming with diversification towards high value horticulture crops and bee keeping, he stressed upon the importance of adopting sprinkler or drip irrigation in view of groundwater shortage. He also took feedback from farmers and enquired about seed or fertilizer availability and other requirements such as water and power for the wheat crop sown.
During his visit in Charkhi Dadri mandi, he informed that Haryana Government will implement National Agricultural Markets (e-NAM) system in its four mandis namely Charkhi Dadri, of Karnal, Sonipat and Safidon.
Likhi said that Union government had, under a pilot project, recently selected four mandis of the state for implementation of e-NAM system. All kind of modern equipments for e-procurement of crops would soon be made available in this mandis, said he.When the traders apprised that people are facing trouble as facility of any bank is not available in Charkhi Dadri mandi, the Principal Secretary directed the officers to start process for opening a bank branch in this mandi.
