Indian National Lok Dal, Haryana’s main Opposition party has announced to hold protest during BJP president Amit Shah’s visit to Jind on February 15.

Leader of opposition in Haryana Assembly and INLD’s senior leader Abhay Chautala on Wednesday said that prior to his visit to Jind, the INLD has written a letter to Amit Shah asking him to clear his stand on the implementation of Supreme Court’s decision on Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) canal.

Before entering Haryana, Shah should publicly declare the BJP’s stand on the construction of the SYL canal. Otherwise, the INLD workers will welcome him with black flags and black balloons, said Chautala while addressing INLD’s executive committee meeting at Sirsa.

The BJP has failed to bring SYL canal water for Haryana farmers and is betraying the people of the state, he alleged.

Chautala further said that INLD has been continuously fighting for the construction of the SYL canal. Now, a huge Kisan Sammelan will be organized in Delhi's Ramlila Maidan on March 7 to press for the demand of SYL construction, said he.

The INLD leader also appointed 90 incharges for all constituencies of the state and entrusted them with a task to ensure success of party’s protest at Jind February 15 and rally on March 7 in Delhi.

Notably, BJP chief Amit Shah will sound the poll bugle for Haryana in Jind on February 15 by flagging off a motorcycle rally of one lakh bikers.

The Akhil Bharatiya Jat Aarkshan Sangharsh Samiti (ABJASS) led by Jat leader Yashpal Malik has also announced to hold “Bhaichara Nyaya Yatra” at Jind on the same day to seek answers from Amit Shah and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal for not fulfilling the promises made to the Jat community.

The ABJASS has announced that a “Bhaichara Nyaya Yatra” from various parts of Haryana will reach Jind to protest against BJP and question the ruling leaders about the non-fulfillment of the promises made to the Jat community last year.
