Super Bowl LII baby arrives to New England-based Eagles fans

And a grandpa who is a die hard Patriots fan

Killian was due on February 8th. But, because his parents are Eagles fans, they had another reason to be excited for the beginning of February. They were all set to watch Super Bowl LII at New Hampshire bar, LinCross, an Eagles "nest" deep in Patriots country. Killian's grandfather, Roger Prive, would not be in attendance, however. Roger is a die hard Patriot's fan.

It's an interesting family dynamic. One that started when Roger's son, Ben, befriended a young Eagles fan from New Jersey as a child. Today, that friend is the owner of LinCross, and Ben has found a life-long Eagles companion in his wife, Lisa.

"They both had tickets to the LinCross event, thinking Killian would be born closer to the due date of 2/8," said Prive.

Well it seems that Lisa and Ben's son was destined to be an Eagles fan as well, because he wasn't going to miss Super Bowl LII.

"Killian was due this coming Thursday, but couldn’t wait and wanted to be at home to watch the Super Bowl. So he planned it well and came along on Groundhog Day. Unlike Punxsutawney Phil, Killian did not see his shadow and came right out with no complications," said Prive.

Killian is Prive's first grandchild. And it turns out that winning a healthy grandchild is the best compensation prize to losing the Super Bowl.

"I was OK with the outcome, the Eagles played the better game. I did congratulate Ben, Lisa and baby Killian on their win," says Prive.

New father Ben has also made sure everyone knows that Killian owns a piece of the Eagles historic win.

"Ben does think Killian was the good luck charm that pushed the Eagles past the Patriots machine."

As for the happy grandfather, he may want to borrow some of Killian's good luck in the near future.

"Maybe next year I’ll try to sneak a pair of Patriots socks on Killian."

Congratulations to Roger and his wife, Ben, Lisa and Lisa on a healthy baby boy! Their story was shared to us on WMUR's u local.
