‘Police case against Shelke will damage his political career’

Nagpur: Former member of legislative council Girish Gandhi has come out in support of Congress corporator Bunty Shelke who was booked by Nagpur city police for disrupting NMC's general body meeting on February 3.

In a letter to the municipal commissioner Ashwin Mudgal, Gandhi said, "I learnt about the incident through media reports. Being his first term in the civic body, Shelke was not aware of the procedures and had committed the mistake unintentionally."

According to Gandhi, any action against Shelke would damage his political career. "Instead, the civic body should interact and guide young leaders like Shelke about rules and regulations," he said.
