A mother of six from Chandlers Ford is celebrating having lost an impressive four stone.

Danielle Bell, a secretary, went to her doctor as she was struggling to lose weight, despite following what she felt was a healthy diet.

Danielle's weight had gone up and down since she began having children, but having decided to stop at six, and with concerns about her long term health, she felt it was time to do something about her health and fitness.

"My dad had high blood pressure and was diabetic and I didn't want to have those problems. I didn't want to be a fat mum, either!" explains Danielle, who weighed 14 stone, 5lb.

Danielle's doctor referred her to Weight Watchers, which didn't cost her anything, as it was a GP referral.

Simply by following the diet advice she was given, Danielle lost an impressive four stone in just six months, and now weighs in at a healthy 9 stone 5lb.

"I did it all without exercise initially," says Danielle.

"I was really motivated by seeing the numbers on the scales going down each week, and I was worried that if I started exercising and putting on muscle, my weight loss would plateau."

However, after six months, Danielle did start exercising. She began by going for increasingly long walks, and now works out at the gym four times a week.

Previously a vegetarian, she has also become vegan, completely cutting animal products out of her diet, and switched to gluten free.

Danielle says losing weight and getting fit has given her confidence a big boost.

"I wore a bikini on holiday last year for the first time in 19 years!" she says.

"I would never put the weight back on now. I've thrown away all of my big clothes. Doing Weight Watchers has completely changed the way I look at food now. I know if I eat rubbish, I'll pile weight on, so I don't do it.

"I really enjoy going to the gym too now. It's just part of my routine," she says.
