BGB deployed in some dists ahead of Khaleda’s graft verdict

Authorities have ordered the deployment of paramilitary Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) across some parts of the country ahead of tomorrow’s graft verdict of Khaleda Zia.

Mohsin Reza, Public Relation Officer, BGB Headquarters, confirmed The Daily Star of the development, saying such measure was upon request of local authorities.

So far, till last reported, 12 platoons of the force – three in Sirajganj, three in Bogra, three in Narayanganj, one in Noakhali, one in Laxmipur, and another in Chandpur – have been deployed.

Tomorrow, a special court will deliver a graft case verdict against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, amid widespread discussions of the political significance of the verdict and its aftermath.
