Coronation Street bad guy Phelan looks set to kill again in spoiler pictures from the ITV soap.
But actor Connor, who has played the murderous builder since 2013, couldn’t be more different from his angry on-screen character, as new snaps have demonstrated.
Connor was spotted greeting fans of the show, a broad smile on his face as he chatted happily away with passers by who spied him filming his exit scenes in Whitehaven in Cumbria yesterday.
Wrapped up warm in a blue padded coat as he paused in between takes, the actor looked jovial as a group of Coronation Street viewers crowded around him, keen to meet him in the flesh.

Connor even paused to take selfies with the fans, shattering his hardened, malevolent image from the programme.
Putting his arms around a group of female Corrie lovers, the star appeared to be a big hit, with the women all smiles as they posed for a picture with him.
Phelan’s exit was recently revealed in first look pictures as the murderer prepares to leave the cobbles for good.
Although he has already killed three residents, it appears that he could have one more left on his spree.

Snaps showed him and his wife Eileen (Sue Cleaver) ready to board a boat for their holiday.
A furious argument breaks out between the pair, but has Eileen finally learned the truth about her husband?
Phelan could be seen gesturing angrily at his wife from the boat, with Eileen looking reluctant to follow him aboard.
Things take a dark turn when he reaches for a length of rope, but will she end up on the receiving end of his notorious rage?
Phelan looks set to make his exit later in the spring after show boss Kate Oates confirmed that it will take a few months for him to get his comeuppance.

Details of the final scenes are being kept tightly under wraps, but Corrie fans are keen to see him pay the price for his wrongdoing.
It has also been revealed that Sally Metcalfe (Sally Dynevor) will leave Coronation Street because of Phelan.
In an attempt to save her marriage to Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine), she will agree to leave and start afresh after her husband insists he cannot stay after Phelan helped send Anna Windass (Debbie Rush) to prison for GBH.
