NOAKHALI, Feb 6: Two persons were shot and injured in an attack on them at Vobovodri Village under Chhoyani Union in Begumganj Upazila here on Saturday afternoon.
The injured- Md. Mohan, 27, son of Nurul Islam, and Nasir Alam, 34, son of Mokhlesur Rahman, were admitted to Noakhali General Hospital.
Local sources said during a programme at Rudrapur Government Primary School, several members of a local a gang Tito Bahini tried to enter the venue with four to five motorcycles forcefully when a volunteer of the programme Fahad, son of Daud, of Rudrapur Village, tried to resist them. Following this, the gang shot and blasted cocktails and fled from the spot, leaving two injured.
Officer-in-Charge of Begumganj Police Station Firoz Hossain Molla said a case was under process in this connection.
