DiDi seeks to use on its AI strengths and national network to empower the entire automotive industry chain.
The company’s data analytics capabilities allow smarter network management based on understanding of user distribution and attributes.
DiDi will open its platform to automakers' own sharing services. The platform will introduce to individuals and corporate partners not only diversified models from automakers, but also auto-associated finance and insurance services.
Apart from automakers, DiDi will also work cwith other car-sharing services, rental companies, infrastructure operators and after-sales service providers.
The Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance is accelerating convergence and synergy initiatives in a range of new automotive technologies.
By the end of its strategic plan, it plans to launch 12 pure electric models globally, using common EV platforms and components, and bring to market 40 vehicles worldwide with autonomous drive technology and developing robo-vehicle ride-hailing services.
Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi predicts that the combined revenues of its member companies will reach $240bn under the Alliance 2022 strategic plan.
DiDi Chuxing Express Mobility Group general manager Chen Ting said: “Strategic partnerships with the world’s leading industry players like Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi will enable us to pool our strengths and resources to meet diversified mobility demands and create an open, sharing-based transportation ecosystem, as we innovate vehicles for a future of ridesharing, AI technology and new energy.”
Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Connected Vehicles and Mobility Services senior vice president Ogi Redzic said: “The potential business and technology opportunities that we will explore with Didi are quite promising. This cooperation fits with the Alliance expansion in vehicle electrification, autonomy, connectivity and new mobility services.”
