The facility is handicapped accessible. Refreshments will be served and the meeting is open to the public.
The historical society is selling T-shirts for $12 and sweatshirts for $20. Orders may be placed by calling Judy at 330-527-7669. The membership drive is ongoing. Dues are $5 for students 18 and under; $15 yearly for an individual or $25 for a family; and $150 for individual lifetime and $200 for family lifetime. Corporate memberships are $100. We can email or mail you membership forms or join at anyone of our meetings.
The group is in need of a microphone; speakers have already been acquired. To donate or loan a mic, contact Amanda at 330-842-4374.
The group also is looking for photos of two of the township’s one-room school houses. The first is School No. 2 located at 7276 S.R, 303 when it was being used as a school, prior to 1941 when it became a church.
The second is School No. 8, which was located on the west side of S.R. 88 where Hewins Road dead ends. The group welcomes any photos, family histories, or other memorabilia area residents wish to share.
