After Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels backed out of taking the Indianapolis Colts head coaching job, the Colts brass could like to interview Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich, according to an NFL Network report.
One name to watch for #Colts head coaching job: #Eagles OC Frank Reich. He's one of the candidates on a short list and they're expected to put in an interview request, sources tell @MikeGarafolo and me. Was an assistant in Indy from 2008-11.

Assuming that the Colts plan on sticking with quarterback Andrew Luck, Reich makes perfect sense as a head coaching candidate.
Given the success the Eagles saw over the last two seasons with Reich, head coach Doug Pederson, and quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo in developing Carson Wentz, attempting to copy that staff structure of former quarterbacks around a quarterback could be a strategy for the Colts.
Who could Eagles target with No. 32 pick?
Moreover, Pederson has lauded the impact Reich has had in terms of game-planning and play-calling. While Pederson called the plays for the Eagles' offense, he received high marks for his aggressiveness and malleable matchup-determined game-plans, which Reich could also bring with him as a head coaching candidate.
Prior to joining the Eagles' staff in 2016, Reich served as the Chargers' offensive coordinator for two seasons after two years as Philip Rivers' quarterbacks coach. Reich began his coaching career with the Colts as an offensive assistant in 2008, and had stints in Indianapolis both as a quarterbacks coach and wide receivers coach.
