Toyota Avanza 1.5X now open for booking – RM82,700

UMW Toyota Motor has introduced the new Toyota Avanza 1.5X, which comes priced at RM82,700 on-the-road without insurance. The variant features several aesthetic add-ons in order to create a more rugged image for the MPV.

On the exterior, there are now front and rear bumper extensions finished in black, which are accompanied by silver mouldings. Other items include cladding around the wheel arches as well as the vehicle’s sides that serve as a form of protection for the bodywork.

The profile also boasts a few variant-specific cues, including a blacked-out D-pillar for a “floating roof” look, and there is an ‘X’ badge on the front right fender. As for the rear, additional reflector elements have been placed beside the taillights in order to inject some style in the area.

Should you want to spruce things up further, UMWT offers a variety of optional accessories like a roof ornament along with these 16-inch alloy wheels. On the inside, customers can upgrade their infotainment system to either a DVD-AVX or DVD-AVN system, both featuring large touchscreens.

Bookings are now open for all interested parties, and the new variant will be put on display at Toyota showrooms from February 24 onwards. Each purchase comes with a five-year/unlimited mileage warranty as well.

  • In its heyday, this(the first gen) and the Nissan Grand Lavina was absolutely the darling of lower-middle class families in Malaysia. Relatively cheap and able to carry 7 of their family members fuss free and sparked an MPV race between Proton and Perodua that culminated to the creation of the Exora and Alza.

Today, they are forgotten relics, both former Kings now stands so shallow against the likes of the Honda BRV. Even the humble Alza offers more value and a dash of charm for a lower price. The Avanza really needs a makeover or give way to a new Alza, and the Grand Lavina? that has been still in showroom almost unchanged since Malaysia was part of Pangaea. Send it to the museum

Tan Chong themselves run by dinosaurs that claim Almera needs only 1 airbag because the body is strong enough.

The consumers are reacting appropriately. TC struggling so bad now, may they be sent to museum even faster when Geely bring down the hammer, starting with Boyue muahahahaha

UMW should be renamed “JURASSIC WORLD OF TOYOTA MALAYSIA”….JWTM.
HONDA Malaysia ,without commercial vehicles aim to sell 109,000 cars this 2018.
        UMW,at the way things go…40,000 cars and 20,000 commercial vehicles…for 2018.Just pathetic.

pls la Toyota, do some specification changes like
    1) widen to width 1750mm and longer the Body,
2} change to Front wheel drive and
    3) flatten the floor area of 2nd row footrest (like BRV)
    4) 6 speed gear box or CVT
than can post a challenge to Honda BRV.
your engine HP and Torque still lower than Honda.

Mitsubishi Xpander is coming, pls do a material change for better of Toyota fans

my eyes couldn’t come to terms with the black bodykit over the white paint on the car.

it’s as if the car just met an accident and the owner didn’t have enough budget to paint the bodykit. the black areas are just at the wrong places.
