Hermantown junior Ashley Winberg raced to a seven-tenths of a second lead after the first run of the Section 7 girls Alpine ski meet Tuesday at Giants Ridge and then held on to win on the second run.
Winberg was timed in 1:18.60 for the two runs, finishing .31 ahead of Reilly Wahlers of the Cook County-Silver Bay team.
Stillwater claimed first place in the girls meet with 479 points. Third-place Cook County-Silver Bay was the highest-placing Northland girls team.
Stillwater also won the boys race, totaling 427 points, while Mounds View's Kaarl Damberg edged Hermantown senior Austin Danelski by .06 for the individual title in 1:12.58.
Hermantown's Thomas Borash was third in 1:14.57, while fourth-place Duluth East was the highest-placing Northland team.
