The tracks have been cleared after a train derailed around 11:25 a.m. Monday near the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, according to Andy Williams, Burlington Northern Santa Fe public affairs director.
One track began running around 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, and as of late afternoon Tuesday, Williams said the other would be opening any moment.
The cause of the derailment, which included 11 cars on an eastbound Union Pacific freight train, has not been determined, said Williams. The accident did not include hazardous materials or cause injury.
Williams said all time-sensitive material was rerouted and delivered on time.
