Girls hockey

GF KnightRiders 2, Devils Lake 1: The Grand Forks KnightRiders downed Devils Lake on Tuesday night.

The Firebirds scored early in the second period with a goal from sophomore Elle Black. Late in the second, Grand Forks responded with a goal by Katelin Petersen. Alyssa Mulroy followed up with another KnightRiders goal early in the third to seal the win for Grand Forks.

"Props to DL on their gritty effort tonight," KnightRiders coach Alex Hedlund said. "They challenged us, and made it hard for us to get much going."

Boys hockey

GF Central 6, Grafton-PR 1: The Central Knights picked up a road win over Grafton-Park River on Tuesday night.

Senior Central defenseman Hunter Moreland notched a hat trick with back-to-back goals in the victory, while a tight Knight defense held Grafton-Park River to only 13 stops in the game.

Central is again on the road to challenge West Fargo on Thursday at the WF Sports Arena.

Boys basketball

Fargo Davies 89, GF Central 42: Fargo Davies cruised to a road win over Grand Forks Central on Tuesday night.

The Eagles' Braeton Motschenbacher posted 20 points in the win, while Central's Jacob Ohnstad paced the Knights with 13.

"We had a hard time handling their pressure," said Central head coach Dan Carlson.

GF Red River 76, Devils Lake 48: Thanks to a strong one-two punch from Roughrider duo Thomas Stephenson (16 points) and Daniel Walker (15), Red River defeated Devils Lake in a home matchup Tuesday night.

"We took care of the ball and defended well in the half court set," Red River head coach Kirby Krefting said.

Girls basketball

Fargo Davies 74, GF Central 30: Fargo Davies downed Grand Forks Central at the Knights' gym on Tuesday night.

Davies was led by Taylor Fey and Alyssa Paper, each with 14 points, while Central's Grace Gaustad and Jessica Gillian totaled 9 points each.
