Mr. Charles Rice, 75, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas passed Friday February 2, 2018. He was born in Wabbaseka, Arkansas to the late Victor Charles Rice and Essie Lean Bohannon Crawford. He was a Vietnam War Veteran, as a member of the United States Navy, and served his country with honor and distinction. Mr. Rice graduated from Wabbaseka Training School, earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from AM&N College and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Mr. Rice was one of the pioneers of the Community Garden located at 7th and Idaho street that was organized ten years ago. He loved working in the garden and enjoyed collecting and sharing antiques. He is preceded in death by his siblings Barbara Rials, Loretta Obiagwu, Thomas James Seals, and Frank E. Seals, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory one son Dr. Sederick Charles Rice (Shara) of Pine Bluff, Arkansas and a daughter Chrishanna D. Rice of Little Rock, Arkansas. Three grandchildren Jonathan, Sarai, and Skylar. Five brothers Roy Lee Seals (Edna) of England, Arkansas, Carlton R. Seals of Tucson, Arizona (Lou), Wayne F. Seals of Woodbridge, Virginia, Kim L. Seals of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Willie L. Seals of Phoenix, Arizona (Allyson); Six sisters, Brenda Peoples of Little Rock, Arkansas, Marilyn Enright of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Beverly V. Riggins of Dallas, Texas, Rae E. Rice of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Eunita Seals of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Vickie Lynn McGhee of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Friday, February 9, 2018 at the P.K. Miller Mortuary Chapel. Mr. Rice will lie in repose at the mortuary on Friday, until the time of the funeral service on Saturday.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the P.K. Miller Mortuary Chapel, 204 E 2nd Ave, Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
Willa Barnes
Willa Broyles Barnes, age 64, of Pine Bluff, passed away, January 27, 2018. She was born March 10, 1953, near Greasy Corner, Arkansas to the late Paul & Beatrice Roland Broyles.
She graduated from Hughes High School in Hughes, Arkansas. She received her Bachelors of Economics from UAPB. She received her Masters of Health Administration from Webster University.
Willa was preceded by six brothers and one sister.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Larry Barnes Sr,; three sons, Larry Jr., Joshua, Bernard Nick”; three daughters, Nakisha, Lashaundra, and LaCinda , 14 Grandchildren; one Great Grandchild, seven brother;, one sister; two sister-in-laws and a host of other relatives and friends.
Family hour will be held Today, February 8th from 5 -7 p.m. at Christian Way Funeral Home.
Celebration Service will be held Friday, February 9, 2018 at 12 noon at St. Matthew C.O.G.I.C. 4801 East Broadway, North Little Rock, Arkansas. The body will lie in state at the church from 11:00 am until time of service.

Mrs. Clara Mae Sullivan passed Friday, February 02, 2018. She was born July 29, 1941 in Boyle, Miss. to the late Sanford and Mandy (Jones) Wilson.
