Man carrying India's national flag with Islamic symbol held

on Monday held a person for possessing India's flag that was carrying a 'crescent moon' symbol at its centre in place of the Chakra.

The police informed that the 25-year-old man was a native of Uttar Pradesh, and he was caught with the flag during a cordon and in Bowenpally area.

"We have taken him into our custody, and we are going to hand him over to department for further investigation," the police said.

The crescent moon is usually identified with Islam and found in the flags of Islamic nations.
