Hello and welcome to the Newcastle United live blog for Wednesday, February 7.

The Magpies were held to a 1-1 draw away at Crystal Palace on Sunday, despite taking the lead at Selhurst Park.

It lifted Newcastle one point above the Premier League relegation zone but it was the second time in a week that United let a 1-0 lead slip.

Manager Rafa Benitez is now preparing his squad for the visit of Jose Mourinho's Manchester United on Sunday as he looks to keep United above the Premier League's bottom three.

We will have all of the reaction to the Crystal Palace draw and, as ever, we want to hear from you, so please send us your thoughts over Facebook at www.facebook.com/chroniclenufc/ or on Twitter at @ChronicleNUFC.

The Brazilian has made a superb start to life at Newcastle but Rafa Benitez is keen for him not to get carried away.

He told us:

“He has played well. But I want to see him playing more good games and after we can be talking about: ‘Kenedy can do this’, or ‘Kenedy can do that’.

“At the moment we are happy with what he did. We want him to carry on like this every week.”
