But their title defence has not gone to plan and Conte is under pressure following a string of poor results, including consecutive defeats to Bournemouth and Watford.
The 48-year-old publicly criticised the board during the transfer window, suggesting he is not allowed to sign the players that he wants.
And Wise, who spent 11 years at Chelsea, has warned the boss that he should be setting more of an example to a squad of players short of confidence.
“He’s the leader, the inspiration and he’s not showing that at the moment.”

“The way he comes across, there’s always a problem.
“It’s always ‘I want this player, I want this player, I want to coach him’.
“You kind of want him to forget all about that.
