A woman tried to commit suicide allegedly after killing her two sons by drowning Bishwanath upazila of Sylhet on Tuesday night.
Bishwanath Police Station OC M Shamsuddoha said the woman, identified as Beauty Akter Rony, wife of Kabir Ali, a farmer, has been admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital.
Her sons are : Nahidul Islam Maruan,3, and 18-month-old Wahidul Islam Ruman.
Quoting family members, police said Beauty first killed her two sons by drowning them in a water-filled bucket and then took Dettol, an antiseptic and disinfectant liquid, to take her own life.
Police, however,interrogated Beauty’s husband.
The reason behind the killings could not be known yet.
