    The Eagles hockey team won a game and lost two over the past week. They were defeated in their final home game of the regular season Thursday with a 4-1 loss against Pine City. The Eagles were down 2-0 very quickly in the first. A mid-period goal by Jacob Bahe (power play) with an assist from Corbin Kollar put the Eagles on the board and in striking distance. After no score in the second period, Pine City scored twice more to secure their 4-1 win over the Eagles. The Eagles attempted 16 shots against Pine City, a far cry from the 54 shots on goal attempted against the Eagles. Zach Piehl tended the goal for the Eagles, saving 50. The Eagles served 13 penalty minutes while Pine City served 11, all for minor offenses.
 The Eagles drop to 9-12 on their season with four games left, all on the road. Their last regular season game of the year is Feb 14 at Sauk Rapids.

Legacy Christian 2

    The Eagles’ defeated Legacy Christian 5-2 at Super Rink 5 last Saturday. It was the Eagles ninth win of the season and their third straight win, the longest winning streak this season.
The Eagles were down 1-0 less than a minute into the first period. Jaden Keo, with the assist from Austin Rydberg and Corbin Kollar, tied the game just under seven minutes into the period. Legacy Christian retook the lead midway through the second period before Weston Shug (power play) scored with just one second left in the period to tie the game. Aubrey Hartfiel and Logan Beckstrom had the assists.
    It was all Eagles the remainder of the game. Corbin Kollar scored two consecutive goals, the second goal had an assist from Jaden Keo and Alec Doran. Weston Schug took advantage of an empty net to score one final goal for the Eagles, sealing a 5-2 win. There were 11 total infractions that resulted in 23 penalty minutes. The Eagles served eight of those on four infractions. The Eagles were one for five on power plays (20.0%), while Legacy Christian was 0-2 on power plays against the Eagles.
    The Eagles nearly doubled Legacy Christian’s offensive shooting. The Eagles had 44 shots on the goal to LC’s 26. Zach Piehl tended the goal for the Eagles, saving 24 of 26 shots.

North Branch 13

    The Eagles were handed a tough loss at Chisago Lakes Arena in Lindstrom when they lost big time to North Branch 13-1 Monday night, ending their winning streak at three games.
The Eagles were down 6-0 at the end of the first period, that deficit was extended to 11-0 by the end of the second period. The Eagles were down 12-0 before Aubrey Hartfiel saved them from a shutout with a goal late in the third.
    North Branch scored once more, ending the game with a 13-1. Weston Shug (tripping, minor) and Aubrey Hartfiel (tripping, minor) both served two minutes in the penalty box. North Branch served five minutes on one major infraction, checking from behind.
    Zach Piehl and Caden Weber split time in the goal. Weber played just under 30 minutes saving five of nine shots against him. Piehl played for just under 22 minutes and faced heavy offensives from North Branch, saving 22 of 31 shots against him.
    North Branch had 40 shots on the goal, double the Eagles’ 19.
