Chief minister Yogi Adityanath to inaugurate international bird fest at Dudhwa National Park

Avian experts from across the world will attend the three-day International Bird Festival that will open in Dudhwa National Park on February 9.

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath will inaugurate the event. On the occasion, he will release a coffee table book on the Dudhwa National Park and another book on the Lucknow Zoological Park. 

The CM will also launch several schemes for members of Tharu tribe, especially women. 

Meanwhile, the state forest department is busy mobilising a large number of people from the adjoining Lakhimpur Kheri district for the festival, which will be attended by bird experts from England, Israel, France, Finland and other countries. 

During the fest, a bird watching competition will be organised in all 75 districts of UP. An exhibition to showcase and sell products prepared by Tharu community will also be organised.

Dudhwa is home to 456 bird species, including some rare ones such as the Bengal Pelican and the Adjutant Stork.
