SUNDERBANI: Police on Wednesday foiled two bovine smuggling bids by rescuing nine bovines and arresting a smuggler.
As per the details, a police team headed by SHO Sunderbani Tilak Raj laid a Naka on highway and signalled a Tata Mobile (JK14B 5035) to stop but the driver of vehicle broke Naka after which police team chased the vehicle and found it parked at some distance.
During checking of the vehicle, police found two bovines loaded in it which were rescued. However, driver of the vehicle fled from the spot and his search is going on.
Similarly police team headed by SHO Manjakote Ajaz Haider under the supervision of SDPO Manjakote Imtiyaz Ahmed laid a Naka at Patrara Morh and during checking of a vehicle (JK11B 4668) found seven bovines loaded in it.
The driver identified as Mohd Reyaz son of Babu resident of Palangar was arrested and a case vide FIR No 7/2018 under section 188 RPC 3PCA Act was registered against him.
Meanwhile, during investigation of a case of theft of a goat registered in Police Station Dharamsal, police team headed by SHO Dharamsal Romal Singh rounded a suspected person namely Jeet Singh son of Sant Ram resident of Siot who confessed his crime. On the disclosure of arrested person, a stolen goat has been recovered.
