LAKELAND — A Flagler Beach man was killed in a single-vehicle crash late Tuesday on Interstate 4 in Polk County.

Pierce R. Jackson, 27, was found dead at the scene, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report, which gave the following account:

Jackson was driving erratically in the center eastbound on I-4 in his 2012 Hyundai Accent. There were no passengers.

Jackson opened the driver's door as the Accent drove onto the center median. The car collided with the median guardrail, and Jackson was ejected from the Accent.

Jackson received unspecified fatal injuries and died at the scene.
