Old Courthouse set to jump for George Washington
Hard-pressed for a good way to celebrate George Washington's birthday?
The Old Courthouse in downtown St. Louis comes to the rescue again, throwing the Washington Birthday Ball on Feb. 24.
The National Park Service will open the historic space for a period-authentic party. From noon to 4 p.m., the fete will feature live music and dancing, and cookies and hot cider for refreshments.
For those interested in learning how to cut a rug 1850s-style, dance instructor Deborah Hyland will hold a workshop from 9-11 a.m.
The event, free and open to the public. Historical dress is welcome, but not required.
