Assembly Member Stacey Pheffer Amato (D-South Queens) installed the newest officers of the Volunteer Firemen’s Association of the City of New York at a ceremony the weekend of January 27 and 28. This past legislative session, Pheffer Amato, along with her colleagues in the NYS Assembly, passed a bill that extended equal cancer treatment coverage for all first responders to ensure all volunteers are afforded the care they need and deserve. “It was a privilege to install the officers of the Firemen’s Association!” said Pheffer Amato. “We owe a great deal to these men and women for the selfless work they do every single day.”
