Under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, nearly 18.15 lakh poor families in Chhattisgarh have been provided LPG connection so far , officials informed.
The scheme was started in the state on August 13, 2016. Under the scheme, 10 lakh LPG connections were provided in previous fiscal year 2016-17 and Rs 8.15 lakh connections have been provided in current fiscal year 2017-18 till date. Under scheme, each of the selected family (enlisted in Social, Financial and Caste based Census 2011) are provided free LPG connection, double burner stove and first filled cylinder at nominal registration cost of Rs 200.
Food, Civil Supply and Consumer Protection Department Officials informed today that till date, one lakh 42 thousand 986 connections have been provided in Raigarh district, one lakh 33 thousand 517 connections in one lakh 33 thousand, one lakh 24 thousand 484 connections in Bilaspur district, one lakh 18 thousand 236 connections in Rajnandgaon, one lakh 10 thousand 305 connections in Mahasamund district, 92 thousand 301 connections have been distributed in Jashpur district, 64 thousand 831 connections in Balrampur-Ramanujganj district, 80 thousand 928 connections in Korba district, 62 thousand 419 connections in Surajpur district, 77 thousand 136 connections have been distributed in Kondagaon district, 60 thousand four connections in Mungeli district, 63 thousand 733 connections in Gariaband district, 60 thousand 840 LPG connections have been distributed in North bastar (Kanker) district, 59 thousand 100 connections in Balod district, 51 thousand 157 connections in Bemetara district, 45 thousand 281 connections in Koriya district, 63 thousand 344 connections have been distributed in Raipur district, 57 thousand 540 connections in Dhamtari district, 13 thousand 221 connections in South Bastar (Dantewada) district, five thousand 858 connections in Bijapur district, five thousand 562 connections in Narayanpur district and five thousand 410 connections have been distributed in Sukma district.
