A 26-year-old DeBary man was critically injured in a vehicle accident in Orlando on Tuesday afternoon, the Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release.
The man, who was not identified pending notification of his family, was driving a 2015 Yamaha motorcycle when a car trying to make a left turn pulled out directly into the path of his vehicle at Lake Underhill Road and Alafaya Trail.
The man, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment.
According to the FHP report, the driver of the car, Jeffrey Parrett, 45, of Orlando, was exiting a private driveway and was attempting to turn left to travel eastbound on Lake Underhill Road.
The motorcyclist was traveling west on Lake Underhill Road when Parrett moved into the roadway. The front of the motorcycle hit the left side of Parrett's car. The motorcyclist was thrown from his bike.
The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending, according to the FHP report.
