A listed drug peddler was hacked to death and another injured in attacks by their rivals in separate incidents at Chatiani in Pabna municipality early yesterday.
The injured was admitted to Pabna Medical College Hospital.
The deceased, Faisal Hossain, 35, son of Fakhrul Islam of Chatiani Purbopara village, was hacked on the Fazle Rabbi School premises about 1:00am.
Police recovered the body from the spot in the morning.
Md Rony Hossain, 30, son of Raich Uddin of Chatiani Purbopara village, was stabbed in front of his house yesterday morning. He was rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital in a critical condition.
Pabna Police Station Sub-Inspector Md Abdus Salam said both the victims might have come under attack by the rivals over drug peddling in the area.
Faisal and Rony are listed drug peddlers in the area and they had developed enmity with other drug peddlers recently, said Salam.
Police sent Faisal's body to Pabna Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
