AL AIN: A woman filed a lawsuit demanding separation from her husband over his lack of interest in his appearance and personal cleanliness and other reasons as embodied in his lack of dialogue, maltreatment and dependency, claiming that all this make her incapable of abiding by her rights towards him.

The husband, on the other hand, confirmed that prior to a financial dispute with a member of the wife’s family, he was living, with his wife, a stable family life during which they had 5 children. He pleaded that the interference of his wife’s family members and their attempt to cause worry to his wife led her to file for divorce and fabricate fake reasons which were unfounded.

Commenting on the case, legal adviser Mohammed Suhad Ahmed said, “Some women resort to fabricating problems, thinking that they will be in a better condition than that provided for in married life. The number of divorce cases is constantly rising because some people cannot take responsibility, some women are not quite aware of their basic role as mothers and the parents of the husband and wife lack enough awareness to explain to the couple the effects of divorce in general and on their children in particular.”
