BNP leader Taimur gets anticipatory bail

The High Court yesterday granted anticipatory bail to BNP leader Taimur Alam Khondaker in a case filed against him under the Special Powers Act, 1974.

The case was filed on February 4 on charge of conspiring to conduct subversive activities centring the upcoming verdict in a case filed against Khaleda Zia tomorrow.

Yesterday, the HC bench of Justice Obaidul Hassan and Justice Krishna Debnath granted the bail to the adviser of the BNP chief.

The judges issued the order after hearing a petition filed by Taimur seeking a bail.

Advocate Zainul Abedin and Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon appeared for the accused petitioner.
