Changes to speed up collection process

Changes have been implemented in the race pack collection system for the Osim Sundown Marathon to reduce queue times this year.

More service counters, extended collection time and a delivery option are some of the changes in place to speed up the collection process, after delays last year drew flak from participants. Registration for the race is now open, with discounts of up to $25 till Feb 28.


Nadal targets return at end of the month

MADRID • Rafael Nadal expects to be back playing competitive tennis by the end of the month, the world No. 1 revealed on Monday.

The 31-year-old was forced to pull out of his Australian Open quarter-final against Marin Cilic in the fifth set two weeks ago owing to a thigh injury. He will likely return to action - as he had always planned to do after Melbourne - at Acapulco, which starts on Feb 26.

Mercedes F1 team sign deal with Hilfiger

LONDON • Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton will be wearing Tommy Hilfiger this season after his Mercedes team announced a partnership with the global fashion brand yesterday.

The multi-year deal to be the official apparel partner comes after Hugo Boss switched to the all-electric Formula E championship. Mercedes said Hilfiger would also have its branding on the 2018 car due to be unveiled at Silverstone this month.

Koeman appointed Netherlands coach

THE HAGUE • Ronald Koeman has been named national football coach of the Netherlands, up to and including the 2022 World Cup, the Royal Dutch Football Association (KNVB) announced yesterday.

The 54-year-old former international defender is the seventh coach in eight years for the Dutch team.
