Private sector skills education major All India Society for Electronics and Computer Technology (AISECT) University will set up its fourth university at Vaishali in Bihar and it will be named after renowned scientist CV Raman.
A meeting chaired by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar recently gave approval to the AISECT to set up its university at Vaishali, the birth place of Lord Mahaveer, the institute said.
The proposed university will be named after Raman, a Nobel Prize-winning physicist, an officer of the AISECT's public relations department said here on Tuesday.
The university, which will commence its first session from July 2018, will offer courses in engineering, management, education and agriculture, he said. “It will also help in developing education sector in Bihar and also brain drain from that state,” the official said.
The AISECT is working in the skills development sector for the last 20 years. It has centres in all the districts of the state and had been conferred with the Bihar Innovation Award for its achievements, he said.
