A week long ‘Annual Art Exhibition-2018’ has started on Tuesday at Jahangirnagar University (JU) campus.

Fine Arts department organised the exhibition at the Old Arts building of the campus.

JU Vice Chancellor Prof Farzana Islam inaugurated the event as the chief guest in morning.

Addressing the inaugural session, JU VC said ‘Artists uphold themselves through their works. Commitment is needed for their creative and innovative works’.

Presided over by chairman of Fine Arts department MM Maizuddin, treasurer professor Sheikh Md Monzurul Huq, proctor professor Tapan Kumar Saha and noted artist Shahid Kabir addressed the function as special guest.

The art works of 74 students and 7 teachers of the department are being exhibited at the event.

The exhibition will continue till February 12.
