A Series Of Unfortunate Events: The 2004 film verses the new Netflix series
The gothic tale of the Baudelaire orphans is returning to Netflix for season two at the end of March.
The highly anticipated series will consist of 10 one-hour episodes and will once again see the poor orphans pitted against their crazy uncle Count Olaf (played by Neil Patrick Harris).
Season two has drawn from nine of the original Lemony Snicket (aka Daniel Handler) books and all episodes will drop in one go on Friday, March 30.
As season two has yet to air, no official released date has been announced for the third run yet.
However, one of the show’s stars and producers Harris confirmed that the series would indeed by back for season three but it will be the last season of the series.
“We're three seasons all in,” he told TV Guide.
Netflix has yet to confirm Harris’ comments on a season three renewal.
The first season was released in January 2017 and the follow up will be released in March 2018.
So it is highly likely the third season will get a spring 2019 release.

The show is very true to the original books in the A Series of Unfortunate Events series.
There are 13 books in total - the first season adapted the first four books - and the second will be based on books five to nine.
Season three will adapt the final four books which are titled The Slippery Slope, The Grim Grotto, The Penultimate Peril and The End.
Speaking about the Netflix show, Harris said: “We've intentionally been very truthful and factual and loyal to the books.”
The How I Met Your Mother actor added: “We've added a few characters that aren't in the books, we've added some songs that you probably couldn't put into the books, but for the most part we're sticking to the structure of what already worked.”

The Baudelaire children, Violet, Klaus and Sunny will be once again played by Malina Weissman, Louis Hynes and Preston Smith respectively.
Patrick Warburton will be back as narrator Lemony Snicket and K. Todd Freeman will be playing family banker Arthur Poe.
Some recurring cast members who could be back for season three include Will Arnett as Father, Cobie Smulders as Mother and Sara Canning as Jacquelyn.
No trailer has been released for the third season yet.
Season two is just about to get underway, so it may be a while before one for season three is ready.
