LOWER POTTSGROVE >> Police checking on an open door Saturday ended up arresting two men in a North Keim Street house where they found 10 pounds of pot, a loaded semi-automatic handgun and $5,000 in cash.
Taariq Paul, 26, and Bashia Moreno, 25, have been charged with possession of marijuana, possession of “DAB,’ which is a marijuana concentrate, possession with intent to deliver marijuana and DAB, four counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal conspiracy.
It all began about 5:15 p.m. Saturday when officers were checking on a call about an open door at a building in the 1900 block of North Keim Street, according to a press release from Lower Pottsgrove Police.
While there, the officers smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from a residence nearby.
After determining which home it was coming from, the officers spoke with Moreno and Paul and “smelled a very strong odor of marijuana emanating from inside.”
Police secured the home, and then obtained a search warrant, according to the release.
Inside the home, they found $5,000 in cash, drug paraphernalia, about 10 pounds of marijuana; about 70 grams of “DAB,” a digital scale and a loaded semi-automatic handgun.
“Additional investigation is being completed on the handgun,” according to police.
