Golden Eagle girls top SBA

MILLER — The Mitchell Christian girls basketball team topped Sunshine Bible Academy 45-40 on Monday in Miller.

MCS led 22-17 at halftime and held the Crusaders to 25 percent shooting from the field in the contest. Charlotte Haag and Anna Cooper each recorded double-doubles to lead the Golden Eagles. Haag finished with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Cooper added 12 points and 10 rebounds. Jocelyn Baas added 13 rebounds and seven points as MCS won the rebounding battle 51-37.

For SBA, Lindsey Wilken scored a game-high 20 points and had six steals, while Susan Wilken added 13 points and eight rebounds.

MCS (4-11) plays James Valley Christian today in Mitchell.
