Tyree Pickron made a three-pointer with 25 seconds left as the Archbishop Wood boys’ basketball team rallied past St. Joseph’s Prep, 51-49, on Monday. Andrew Funk and Pickron had 20 and 15 points, respectively, for the Vikings, who trailed by 18 points in the third quarter.

Seth Lundy led all scorers with 21 points as Roman Catholic cruised past Cardinal O’Hara, 86-49. The Cahillites wore special warmups that honored Roman basketball great Rasual Butler, who tragically passed away last week.

Larry Pear scored 18 points as AIM Academy defeated Del-Val Friends, 68-34, in a key Tri-County League contest. Mehki Mobley added 17 points. The two teams will play again on Tuesday at Del-Val Friends.

Haverford High took down Garnet Valley, 63-62, behind Dan Roe’s 20 points. Austin Laughlin had 34 points in defeat.
Girls’ Basketball
Kassondra Brown finished with 31 points and 20 rebounds as Abington took down Plymouth Whitemarsh, 64-51. The Ghosts beat Plymouth Whitemarsh in last year’s District 1 Class 6A final.

Marayiah Roher scored 18 points as Sankofa Freedom rolled past Freire Charter, 66-37. Naja Lumsden added 17 points, 10 assists, and three steals.

Micah McCrea notched 18 points, 21 rebounds, and five assists in Paul Robeson’s 75-37 win over Elverson. Aariona Harmon had 23 points.

Devon Adams ended with 18 points in Marple Newtown’s 57-41 triumph over Harriton. Halle Robinson added 15 points.
