The Nanoscience and Technology Division/Center for Nanoscale Materials (CNM) at Argonne National Laboratory has an available postdoctoral position within the Nanophotonics & Biofunctional Structures Group, funded through the Major Facilities Operations for the Center for Nanoscale Materials program. The position is funded for one year and renewable for up to three years (subject to available funding and performance evaluation).
We are seeking independent and creative candidates with an outstanding track record to join our multidisciplinary research team. The selected individual will carry out research in the areas of nanophotonics and quantum optics of nanoscale materials.
A strong background in nanophotonics, confocal laser microscopy, or high-magnetic field spectroscopy is preferred. Additional expertise in clean-room micro-/nano-structure fabrication, low-dimensional materials, and optoelectronic nano-devices is beneficial. Experience in programming languages (including Labview) and photonic numerical simulations using commercial packages or open source codes will be a plus.
Education: A PhD degree completed within the last five years or soon to be completed in Physics, Chemistry, Material Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
