Stormy scene in SC during Loya hearing

| | New Delhi

The Supreme Court on Monday saw stormy scene during hearing of two separate pleas seeking independent probe in the CBI judge BH Loya death case. A verbal exchange broke out between two lawyers appearing in separate PILs, forcing the judges to step in and ask the lawyers not to reduce the decorum of a courtroom into a “fish market”.

Senior advocate Pallav Sisodia, who appeared for a Karnataka-based journalist, asked the apex court bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra, Justices AM Khanwiilkar and DY Chandrachud, to  independently examine the judge’s death.  On this,  senior advocate Dushyant Dave stood up for Bombay Lawyers Association and claimed that the interest of Sisodia’s client was to derail his matter pending before the Bombay High Court. He even accused Sisodia of conflict of interest in having appeared for Amit Shah in an earlier case. Sisodia shot back with equally harsh words asking Dave to shut up and “go to hell or heaven”.

The judges intervened requesting both lawyers not to reduce courtroom to a fish market.
