Chaparral, ThunderRidge to duel
In what just might be the most highly anticipated Class 5A boys basketball battle of the entire regular season, No. 1 Chaparral hosts No. 3 ThunderRidge in Continental League action in Highlands Ranch on Tuesday night.
The top-ranked Wolverines (16-3) are coming off a victory over previously undefeated Rock Canyon, while the lone blemish for the Grizzlies (18-1) this season came at the hands of Chaparral, 61-45 on Dec. 9 in the championship of the teams’ tipoff tournament.
Both programs are currently 6-0 in league play, meaning the 7 p.m. affair carries plenty of weight in determining the eventual league champion.
Chaparral is paced offensively by junior forward Ronnie DeGray III, junior shooting guard Joseph Dalton and sophomore point guard Kobe Sanders, while senior-heavy ThunderRidge is led by guards Kaison Hammonds, Tyson Cruickshank and Justin McCaw.
Wrestling regional brackets released
CHSAANow.com released the 2018 wrestling regional brackets on Tuesday morning.
In 5A, Arvada West, Adams City, Poudre and Broomfield are the host sites, while the 4A regionals will be held at Pueblo County, Lincoln, Northridge and Golden and 3A regionals will be held at Alamosa, Eaton, Englewood and Pueblo Central.
