Singer Paul Simon has announced his retirement from live performances after his upcoming tour, Homeward Bound - The Farewell Tour. The 76-year-old musician declared his decision to hang up his boots in a statement on Twitter. The one-half of the duo, Simon & Garfunkel, said his the death of their lead guitarist, Vincent N'guini in December last year was a "contributing factor" in his decision. "Mostly, though, I feel the travel and tyime away from my wife and family takes a toll that detracts from the joy of playing," he added. The legendary artiste thanked his fans for showering their love on him over the last 50 years and he "thinks about music constantly". "I love making music, my voice is still strong, and my band is a tight, extraordinary group of gifted musicians..." he added.
